Artist's Comments

The Blind God of Malicious Torment and Unearthly Pleasures of the Mind and Eye, widely known simply as the Editing God.

Although believed to be female, it is more likely the God has no set gender. It is highly advised not to confuse this deity with the God of Editors, who is a docile creature that is eternally doomed to try to deflect Editing God's malice, usually depicted as wearing loose clothing of questionable quality and surrounded by empty teacups and junk food.

The fearsome Editing God is worshipped by many, even though a great number of mortals reveres the mighty God inadvertently, as both cries of joy and outbursts of righteous rage and defeat are music to it's ears, as the God is blind to the plight or bliss of it's followers, as both strengthen the God equally. It thrives no matter if worshipped out of pure bliss or if being condemned in anger. The Editing God also whispers in the ears of mangakas, tempting them to create the feared Uneditable Pages.

Albeit usually depicted in a simple garb, the Blind God is clad in a robe far more resplendent when treading the celestial planes. The very robe is sewn together from the most atrocious horrors of manga editing that would singe man's eye in mere seconds, as it consists of a cape made of Zoomscreentones over Water, Fire and Non-repetitive Patterns, a flowing cheongsam-like dress woven out of SFX over Hair, Holy Grails and Cityscapes with many silk scarves of the Horrors of Dusty and Blurred Scans.

The Blind God is often accompanied by it's three holy attributes. The most important is the halo in the shape of a Twisted Moon with six sacred Tablet Styluses, together with the divine Feather and Eye hovering above. Also, numerous hapless bodies of ritually sacrificed Computer Mice are present.

The Editing God knows no mercy and leaves behind sore eyes and ripped out hair of it's followers and scatters Instant Unexplainable Photoshop Crashes and BSODs in it's wake. The nefarious tentacles are said to be used for committing surprise buttsecks on tardy editors who missed a deadline, but there is no sole survivor of such act.




tl;dr - I shouldn't be allowed to draw when bored to death at school. Strange stuff happens. Also, was itching to do something with screentones for ages already, so there. c:

The description has a few too many as's in the first line of the second paragraph. Otherwise, it's cool.

And the picture rocks. After reading the description, I went back, and yup, there are the mice, and there are the tablet pens.

Great stuff. And the title brought to mind this song.

realy good work. you make a fantastic design of a creature and too in a drawing style i love.
also the idea behind the character is great. Thank you for add a so nice description and long explanation to this picture this is really not common here on dA :-)
